For our customer, we are currently looking for a Project Manager (m/f)

The position holder is responsible for the Management of propulsion system MS/DC Projects. He leads the project core team, incl. representatives of internal partners and ensures the delivery of the locomotives to our customers. He takes care for assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets and scope to the required quality. Continually focusing on a pro-active management of risks and with business acumen on the opportunities. The Project Manager is responsible to apply the key Project Management Processes and the applicable tools for the implementation, and is accountable for the strict and efficient application thereof.



  • The Project Manager has the authority and the obligation to review the effort of the Project Core Team members and to give directives related to the project execution, as such will be involved in the PMP objective setting process for all Project Core Team members
  • It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to manage the interface to internal partners within an extended project team.
  • Responsible for management of all communication with the Customer.
  • Lead the Project Core Team effort to meet periodic financial targets.
  • The Project Manager is responsible for adapting his/her leadership and motivational skills to the project, the team or individual's capabilities and knowledge, the time and tools available and the results desired. (S)he will develop “must do” strategies to increase team effectiveness and the belief that "none of us is as good as all of us.", in order to help the team go through the distinct stages of ‘forming, storming, norming and performing’.
  • Lead the execution of the propulsion system Project


  • Responsible for the Detailed Project Schedule, Customer Interface, Project Risk, Opportunity and Improvement Management, Project Launch (including the Orange Book), Change Management and Contractual Obligation Management, Budget allocation and monitoring, Project Reporting internally both status and financial performance
  • Responsible to be primary contact to divisional Project Management Office. In larger projects, this could be delegated as a separate role


  • It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to adapt the allocation of work packages between the roles and the day-to-day delegation of special tasks to the Project Core Team members in order to optimize the total project
  • The Project Manager has a specific management responsibility and interface to internal project partners. The Project Manager shall actively align the execution tactics for his work with the other Project Managers in the same product platform in order to assure maximum synergy and minimum disruption.
  • The Project Manager shall actively align Bid activities with Sales and Product & Platform Management


  • University Degree in Engineering
  • Proven leadership performance and seniority
  • 5-7 Years + in Project Execution either in Function ENG or PM
  • Cross-functional experience
  • Run several projects on level A/B including international business partners
  • German (mother tongue), English (business fluent) and preferred French or Italian language (business fluent)
